ADD & ADHD: Core Problems

The following is a synopsis of Dr. Amens Work (See a video snippet above). He's one of the leading MEDICAL researches in the ADD field who takes it all VERY seriously.

NATUROPATHIC COMMENTS

Dr.Amen never actually says ADD is genetic BUT in the video above he actually INFERS as much. Never-the-less it is our experience that almost aLWAYS ADD runs-in-family lines. So if you suspect your child has ADD then look to yourself OR your partner for traits.

FURTHER, in terms of our Naturopathic treatment of ADD we could not recommend a better treatment than our Activated Milk proteins corrects the Hypothalamus linking to almost all centres of the Brain AND it automatically treats ANY genetic trait at-the-same time whilst flooding the overactive (Some might say- Burning-Brain; You see one of Dr.Amen's 6 categories he describes as the 'Ring-of-Fire') ADD Brain to naturally sedate it simultaneously allowing improved even deep sleep too.

Another AMAZING trait of the ADD -Dr.Amen writes-is that his tests show that at around 80% of the those suffering ADD have ABOVE NORMAL IQ- NOT BELOW. So please tryto treat your ADD child intelligently & you'll get MUCH farther with them than trying to treat them as if they're DUMB. Indeed they may DO dumb/reckless things at times BUT mostly they are quite intelligent.

AFTER CLOSELY OBSERVING THOSE ADD after many years I have also learnt to ID them as follows:

• They tend to have unique laughs
• They often have boundless energy as in those ADHD.
• They are sensitive to ALL forms of Radiation. Eg:Solar/Lunar/Xray/Computer screens/etc
• They tend to look away from your gaze so as not to meet it. Unwittingly creating an aire of 'furtiveness'. One could call this eye-radiation or 'RAYs from your GAZE'.
• They easily form pterygiums(The white of the eye overgrows the IRIS) thru UV damage (Radiation again)
• They burn readily in the Suns Rays (Radiation again)
• The phases of the moon may well affect their behaviour. Indeed this is from where the term LUNATIC stems.
• They easily think outside-the-square thus often are VERY creative in their own ways
• They say first- think later & need to teach themselves to be more fully expressive of their needs.
• They are often clumbsy or accident prone even reckless at times.
• FEMALE ADD sufferers are MUCH more difficult to diagnose because of one VERY simple, gender based fact. Women have brains which easily multi-task whereas Males have what researchers say are 'Sequential Brains'.

• Due to their mostly above normal IQ & capacity to think outside the square they are often BRILLIANT in what they do UNFORTUNATELY if you take this comment to it's most logical conclusion then you can ALSO say that in these folk they are prone to be described as THERE's A FINE LINE BETWEEN GENIUS & INSANITY. Indeed if you have an Uncle, Aunt or Parent you can describe thus, then they too are in the ADD basket AND possibly you too!
• ALSO NOTE: MOST great inventors would also fall into the ADD basket too.
• SO REMEMBER, in many, many ways, providing the ADD can keep away from the law in their youth then these folk can often be the most creative, productive & inspirational people on the PLANET.

There are 6 Types of ADD According to Dr. Daniel Amen: Based on his book 'Healing ADD'

Basic Tenets of this book:

•          The brain is the hard-ware of the mind ..It is involved in everything we think, feel say or do

•          If the brain is not functioning properly, the person can not function properly

•          Brain functioning can be changed

•          Treatment of an underlying dysfunction enables the person to be the best he or she can be

•          Correct diagnosis is essential for choosing the right treatment

The Technique:

•          SPECT ..Single photon emission computed tomography is part of nuclear medicine and Is used to study 3D cerebral blood flow during resting and during activity

•          Involves injection of a radio-active tracer that emits gamma rays which are collected on film SPECT

•          Provides a 3-dimensional pictures of the brain in 3 different plains

•          A normal image shows smooth, relatively symmetrical activity throughout the brain

•          A pathological image shows areas of decreased activity (cold spots) or increased activity (hot spots)
